Two days down, nineteen more to go. Day two on the Crazy Sexy Diet cleanse was much, much easier than day one. I started the day with a green smoothie rather than a green juice, and that filled me up much longer. This Green Guru Smoothie was made with avocado, banana, romaine, agave, cucumber, and probiotic powder:
I'm trying to stick to recipes from Crazy Sexy Diet throughout the cleanse, although any juice, green smoothie, or raw recipe would probably be fine. But I know I'm sticking with the most alkaline foods if I simply follow Kris Carr's suggested recipes.
Around 10:30 a.m., I snacked on a gala apple. And then at lunch, I had some leftover Buddha Bowl — brown rice, broccoli, chickpeas, carrots, onion, hemp seeds, ground flax, and soy sauce. Of course, I just noticed that my soy sauce has gluten and sugar, so I bought some gluten-free soy sauce to use for the rest of the cleanse:
Also for lunch, I had a Woodstock Peace Salad, which is really just a big ole garden salad with a homemade tahini-garlic dressing:
My afternoon snack was Celery Sticks with Raw Almond Butter:
Dinner was more leftovers of the Choosing Raw "Peanut" Noodles from yesterday:
And I baked a Sweet Potato and topped it with Artisana Raw Coconut Butter, salt, and pepper:
If you read yesterday's post, you'll see that I ate pretty much the same stuff for lunch and dinner. Since juicing is way expensive, I'm trying to off-set the cost of the cleanse by making enough food to eat the leftovers for a few days. That's how I manage in real life too (i.e. when I'm not cleansing), so it makes sense.
